Well...up early this morning and I'm feeling pretty stressed about the video consult with the surgeon today...I find it a little off putting that people just assume that everyone has modern laptops, tablets, and smartphones that seamlessly allow people to connect like that...so I'll be sitting here worrying about that until it's over....cripes, I'm more worried about that than I am about having a huge part of me cut out...maybe the bike rides will help...good morning!

Even though I've had a positive experience with a Zoom conference with my doctor, I share your dislike of technology for that. I'd rather drive + see someone face to face instead of worrying if the connection will be good, the audio will work, etc. That said, I'm also sure your call will go smoothly.

Just look ahead to the relief you'll feel when the call is over. I'm hoping you'll let us know how it goes. Until then, enjoy your rides.

@Sharonbw I really don't mind technology...it's just that I have old equipment and the microphone on the laptop doesn't work anymore...if I didn't have my tablet, I couldn't even do one of those and I wonder where that leaves people who can't afford to replace their old stuff to keep up with technology?

My mom is 95 and has an iPhone. It takes her all day to respond to a text, though she can open & read them fine. There is so much that she is “locked out” from. Even registering & scheduling a Covid shot when they first came out! There should be alternatives!

@AlliFlowers To doing everything online. To get along anymore it is assumed that everyone has easy access to a computer and the ability to use one.

@Sharonbw My mother is 89 and does everything on her iPad. That’s why I asked what she needs exactly.
