A teacher I visited today used the wheelofnames.com service to randomly draw students to do something. Personally, my favorite is the Swedish-developed service Toolie!

@AlliFlowers @mguhlin I agree that we don't have to use technology. However, I use it when it improves my work, as is the case with sites like Toolie.
