@JaneRLaForge You’re right. It’s the oldest argument in . I’ve avoided it by teaching anything EXCEPT elementary. Now I’m tutoring elementary students in literacy and the ones being taught only phonetics are suffering.

@AlliFlowers I’ve only taught at the college level because I don’t have the patience for k-12–bureaucracy, moral panics, and the children. I can’t do impossible jobs. Thanks for your fortitude.

@JaneRLaForge I spent the majority of my career teaching high school. They understand (or are capable of learning to understand) sarcasm. In many ways they’re easier to deal with than undergrads.
