I am a big old white American lady, but you’ll see some of my toots are about Chinese home cooking. I’m married to a man from China, and I’ve been to China a few times. I toot about (Northern) Chinese home cooking because it’s some of what I cook for my family. I love cooking and eating Chinese food; however, my toots are not meant to be informative or instructive. It’s not my place to say whether white folks can or should write about Chinese food in an instructive/informative way. That said, it’s not something I feel comfortable doing. @WuMargaret I understand completely! I lived in Taiwan from 1971-1973 and learned to cook while there. It’s something I enjoy immensely.
