@Stormcat @georgetakei Trowel them up with a corndog?
@alchemistsstudio Our tree rats seems to be struggling to find food lately. I find doug fir cone scales littering the ground, along with stripped cone cores.
Or maybe it is the birds doing that.
@LaNaehForaday @gtconway3 please do not insult the intelligence of fruit by comparing it to ShitGibbon’s brain
@gtconway3 Sounds like another Republican accufession.
@Urban_Hermit It is an attempt to vilify them without churning up. “basket of deplorables” quality animosity.
We want to call them what they are: America-Hating Fucksticks. But that makes discourse difficult. Weird people hate having to be compared to Republicans, but it is a less hostile way to describe them. The truly weird would rather have Ms Harris in the WH, so we will tolerate it, for now.
@CoachMark A free society is not required to tolerate religious sectionalism. You are free to believe what you want to believe, but leveraging that belief could be constrained without infringing on religious freedom. It is simply a matter of demanding that people not be persecuted for their faith, but can be prosecuted for trying to gain power over the faithful.
And quite frankly, groups like the JWs and HKs who practice strict exclusion need heavy regulation.
@CoachMark In fact, a large swath of religions are fundamentally incompatible with capitalism. Asceticism is a frequent component of religious teaching, and capitalism itself is atheistic.
OTOH, there is Scientology …
@cturnbow @MarkRNay@ravenation.club @Lizette603_23 @GottaLaff I am thinking some sort of strategy that was used in a very different way. Allow citizens to “prosecute” media outlets for dangerous content. The citizens would not be required to demonstrate standing (“I was harmed”) or even falsehood, merely that the content is potentially dangerous. It would be a tricky needle to thread.
@MarkRNay@ravenation.club @Lizette603_23 @GottaLaff “radically reform the news”
This is problematic, as 1A guarantees freedom of the press. The intent is that the press should be able to report on the government without repercussions. Ultimately it means that the press – private business – can publish whatever the fuck they want to, to advance their agenda, and not publish (suppress) stuff that they do not want to.
How can we safely reform that?
@chetHendrickson @georgetakei dammit, man, wording – you made me think his network was offline
@NailClippings @georgetakei no, because he killed the bear
@georgetakei But gingerbread has nothing to do with architecture. It is a style of shingling.
@CaptAntagonist Do Not try to rickroll us
@Ed_Carley Well, and? Safeway/Albertsons is owner by Cerberus Capital which has J. Danforth Quayle in the ranks of its upper management.
@mazouzi That they have better things to do than hang out on these fora all day long?
@tomiahonen Bear Wars?
It never was about abortion
