Okay, bicycle repair question. What tool do I need to remove these? (1970's vintage bike) (Thanks all! Answer: pin spanner and bottom bracket wrench... all available from park tool for the price of your firstborn LOL ) #BikeTooter
@ai6yr Was that the Varsity with the one-piece crank?
@yoused Yes....This one, also.
@ai6yr I had a Varsity for about 15 years. I gradually replaced every part on it with something better, including the frame (Letour). It was the bicycle of theseus.
@yoused LOL... Well, right now, just the gasoline expended to haul this project bike home. It looks to be exactly the same bike as the Varsity I restored, except larger tires. (Mysteriously, one tire is 27x1 and there is a 700CC tire not attached. 🤔). Since the seller graciously provided tires/tubes for this, it looks to me like the investment here will be chain, brakes, brake/shifter cable maybe (could re-use them, but they are circa 1974....). The big question is whether I paint it or not, really.
@yoused Thanks! I already did this with the Schwinn Varsity with great success.
