@wardrup @yoused @raf Anti-zionism is antisemitic for a similar reason that claiming there should be no Chinese sovereignty in China is considered anti-Chinese.
Note, this has nothing to do with diaspora and leaves plenty of room for criticism of the Israeli government as well as advocacy for Palestinians and even demands for their sovereignty. But the underlying assumption must be that Israel has the right to exist.
Israel tends to be the only country for which people debate "right to exist."
Not necessarily. Got any interesting follow-up questions?
@raf I thought of one. Convince me that 🇮🇱 is not a theocracy. KSA, Iran, Talibania, Oklahoma are especially terrible examples. I am not the only person who opposes religious dictum and othering. 🇮🇱 is definitely engaging in othering, which is causing them problems. How can I fail to object to that, even given their difficult situation?
Sorry, that's a demand not a question. I'm also not sure why you feel these are appropriate things to write under a post about antisemitism.
@yoused @raf unequivocally, yes!
