@davidbrin Reagan set the wheels in motion for today’s GOP to form. His dictum was “Never speak ill of a fellow Republican”, and he used the religious RW to amplify his and the R’s power.
And anyway, what with the alzheimers, its is not entirely clear that he was all there to begin with.
