I feel like the insane-sounding upshot here is that Bluesky and ActivityPub-based platforms, the product of nonprofits and a public benefit organization, just keep chipping away at the onetime dominance of Twitter — a big ‘ol company — because both the current and former owners of Twitter just…really don’t want to moderate?

It just seems bonkers that a *company*, big as it is, is very clearly losing users and advertisers because it turns out a lot of people would like at least some moderation, and said company is just like “naw.”
