We've had 4 decades of neoliberal economic policies from both parties.
Every year, the total disposable income of the population goes down relative to the cost of living. Millennials aren't killing whole industries, trickle-on economics are killing them.
We have deliberately suppressed wages to make this happen. If we don't save the middle class, the total disposable income of the population will continue to shrink.
We have a choice to make.

@tofugolem I am foolishly optomistic, but I am seeing hints of the first wisps of the trend away from consumerism, which will spell the collapse of modern imperial capitalism. It will be a pitched battle between the upper crust and the FOAD faction, no one will win, and we will all be better off.
Well, by "we", I do not mean to suggest that I will live long enough to see it.
