In 2017, Alabama passed the Memorial Preservation Act, which outlaws renaming, removing, or altering memorial buildings more than 40 years old, protecting numerous Confederate-themed monuments.

Montgomery officials paid a $50k fine to institute the new names & mascots at the local high schools.

Journalists that comment about the counter-offensive in Ukraine going slowly are not taking into account how long it took Ukraine to chip away at the Kherson Oblast after the Russians had established a foothold there.

Once Kyiv broke through, though, they established clear dominance quickly, and they took back the city.

I haven't been watching the story closely precisely because I knew it was going to be a long slog, initially, and never thought otherwise.

The political media was briefly infatuated with him, he was the GOP's next great hope, and then he imploded.

I never understood the fascination with walker. I thought he was terrible. Zero charisma, terrible ideas, goofy looking.
