@Huntn00 @samlitzinger It's interesting that the banned book crowd is so concerned about (white) children until the gunman strolls onto campus. But it's quite fine for someone like Viola Ford Fletcher to experience a massacre as a 7-year-old child.
@Huntn00 absolutely, what we have seen lately are a religious minority working especially through the Supreme Court and local legislatures who feel their religious freedom extends to forcing everyone to be “good little Christians” wether we like it or not. As a woman raising daughters, I feel this violation of personal rights keenly.
Due to a technical problem I had to give my talk on Asimov's foundation series and ethics at the Current Research in Speculative Fiction conference sans slides.
So, I'm showing the title slide and the last slide here instead.

Good morning! Today I woke up early + was motivated to get a good walk in before the heat ramped up. That seemed to annoy the local blue jays, who believe that they rule this land + I'm only here to feed them. The red-shouldered hawk who lives in our woods also decided to join in yelling at me. Or maybe it was yelling at the jays.
Little do they know that their efforts to discourage me has only strengthened my resolve to get out early tomorrow.
Wishing everyone a day of contentment.

"Unhinged from judicial standards, the court now roves through the policy landscape, overturning decades of law and reordering Americans’ lives and institutions. It upends women’s health, revamps college admissions, snatches student aid from millions and redefines public accommodations (allowing egregious discrimination)."
