@Huntn00
Exactly right, voter turnout went even lower after Obama and that is our biggest obstacle to progress in the USA.

That would be a good bumper sticker, "Bring Back Boring Politics"

Ok, I’m 77 years old. Has our political scene always been as dirty as it is now? Revenge impeachments, MTG and Boebert spouting absolute garbage every day. No interest in helping Americans , just vengeance for their leader. SCOTUS corruption, ridiculous investigations. I think I’ve been naive. 8 years of no drama Obama spoiled me!

Now, you can install batteries for the price of a whole-home generator that won't require for the methane distribution system to be running and get a rebate back from the government.

Oppressive 100F heat for weeks, with the prospect of months to come, The garden relies on us and watering to stay alive. The electrical grid is reported under stress, I hate thinking about electrical failure and loss of AC, pondering why I failed to install a natural gas Generac System. Is it too late? At the time I was just thinking of Hurricanes. 🤔

In every democracy, sometimes voters have to hold their nose and vote for the least awful candidate.

Huntn00 boosted

@Npars01 @Huntn00 of course, vote against the worst in the general election, vote for the BEST, in primaries ALWAYS vote in primaries. Vote for using ranked choice voting and instant run off for local & state elections, concentrate on campaign finance reform & in finance & economic transparency & reform because if politicians are for sale the odds of winning on any other issue will be low

I heard a disturbing thing, of all things, about the origin of pink lemonade, at least an origin somewhere (Texas), involving a bucket of water that had been used to wash a circus performer’s red tights. The pink lemon aid was a hit! 😬

The Wagner Group’s mutiny (or was it an insurrection? or a coup attempt?) will be hard for Putin to dismiss as a Western plot, as Yevgeny Prigozhin was entirely his creation.

Putin has, until now, been giving something of a free hand to ultra-nationalist opponents of the war in #Ukraine, for reasons that are a mystery to outsiders.

The events of the last 24 hours expose weakness in his regime.

@Npars01 I can’t say the Dems are blameless on this one.
.

A rational immigration policy package has been known for decades, hell Regan even supported much of it
.
1. increase & streamline legal immigration
2. Increase penalties & enforcement on EMPLOYERS
3. Create a guest worker program with a path to citizenship

Neither party will champion it because the rich WANT a vulnerable underclass of workers

Flashback to the day my team and I welcomed 5000 angry people to the #Indiana statehouse to protest the Dobbs decision.

One year later, #abortion is still legal here.

We're not done. I won't rest until all people have the right to self-determination and bodily autonomy.

In early 2024, @nasa is launching the PACE satellite, which will see the ocean in more colors than ever before.

PACE is also hyperspectral and will be able to identify phytoplankton by species for the first time from space. go.nasa.gov/3JtCw2Y

NASA wants to identify species of phytoplankton, tiny plant-like ocean organisms, from space. Why?

They produce oxygen, soak up carbon, are food for fish, can cause harmful algal blooms, and more. go.nasa.gov/3Pp2W9T 🌊

BREAKING: Putin blinks.

In deal brokered by Belarus president Lukashenko, Wagner chief Prigozhin agrees to turn back from Moscow and return to bases to avoid bloodshed — in exchange for Putin guaranteeing their security.

The coup is paused. For now. Putin is now vulnerable.
