In the Mastodon vs Bluesky wars, “toot” wins out over “skeet.” Both are dumb, but toot is funny, and the idea that people are out there boosting my toots gives Mastodon the prize on this issue.
@RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @ScottSoCal But with humans as I perceive them, I don’t see that being chosen as a philosophy to live by without a catastrophic nudge. And even then, I don’t perceive it as an end point, but a transitional point in the wake of breakdown. And as a generalization, I don’t see it as peaceful, but just another opportunity for power centers to form. I admit I could be mistaken, but humans will need to fundamentally change. 🤔

The idea of the #TheGreatFilter if you put credence in the idea, only serves to illustrate the difficulty of navigating this point in our development. I can say “wow” anarchy what a great idea! … if it can be achieved as a “peaceful” stable state of existence. That’s undetermined no matter how many papers I read. (Continued)

@tofugolem @StillIRise1963 There is a value to “law and order” but the huge issue is inequality under the law. You are right that economic realities must be considered or law enforcement becomes suppressive, and the situation is compounded negatively by racism in law enforcement. 😐

If the goal were upholding the law, they would behave very differently.
I'm half white. I get that white people are programmed to have positive feelings about police, but at some point you have to learn to look past that.
@RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @ScottSoCal Read and skimmed some, and we agree on the issue of Capitalism, expectations of never ending economic growth and consolidation of wealth. The challenge remains in the 21st century, how to dismantle and change to something that does not result in catastrophe, I just don’t see a good path, and it might just be preordained that the human species as part of it’s evolution has to take a fall we might not recover from.
