3/ Oy. I got that last one completely out of order. I’m starting here again:

Justice Engoron takes the bench.

He starts talking about non-jury trial, and he explains the background.

Engoron:

"I believe what happened here is that [AG] clearly checked off non-jury."

But Engoron says it wouldn't have mattered if Trump's team asked, bc the relief was equitable.

"It would not have helped to make a motion, nobody forgot to check off a box."

Habba: "I would like to say thank you, Your Honor."

Background:

The AG's office checked the box for "Trial without jury" in their notice, and Trump's defense team did not submit a corresponding notice demanding a jury.

Putting the matter to rest, Engoron says it wouldn't have mattered. Trump would have lost any such request.

@KimPerales Could this be let it happen, because it will be good for me? 🤔

As we suspected, Netanyahu was warned: Egyptian Intelligence Minister called Netanyahu ten days before Hamas attack and warned him of "something unusual, a terrible operation" that was about to take place from Gaza.

@largess I frequently mention the Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter. You can easily apply these ideas to humanities current situation as destroyers degrading the Earth. We know, but are apparently helpless to make the required changes. And to add an extra wrinkle:

I make references to the Earth Simulator on a semi-regular basis. 🤔

@JoshuaHolland We do a much better job of not getting along and killing each other, than acting like the smartest species and caretakers of the planet. This killing including Ukraine, and genocide is just the icing on the cake of our spectacular failures. 😢

The Israeli gov is not only starving and denying medical care to 2 million Gazans, it’s announced openly and explicitly that it intends to target civilians and because of the savagery of Hamas’s attack, most of the world is supporting them unconditionally. They’ve been given carte blanche to commit war crimes. #israel #hamas #warcrimes

@uspolitics Donny has a problem keeping secrets. He l can’t help impressing people about what he “knows”. 🔥

In Alexander vs South Carolina State Conference of the NAACP, SCOTUS will decide whether moving Black citizens around like chess pieces in mapping congressional districts was based on political affiliation or race. How can Blacks chosen political affiliation which they consider representative of their interests/rights be seen as separate from the state's history of disenfranchisement?

"Advances in AI are amplifying a crisis for human rights online. While AI technology offers exciting and beneficial uses for science, education, and society at large, its uptake has also increased the scale, speed, and efficiency of digital repression. Automated systems have enabled governments to conduct more precise and subtle forms of online censorship." #AI freedomhouse.org/report/freedo
