I could be out of sync, but for days I’ve listened to the evils of the State from anarchists. If I misunderstood the context of what I read in this thread, than I’ll just say sorry and bow out, and let the debate continue. Blame it on scrolling text. 🙃

I like the idea of laws agreed to by the majority as rules that limit extreme behavior. Why don’t you ping on the guy who claims the State harming citizens is never acceptable? If this ties into the idea that no state is legitimate, then I disagree. And I might assume the view is states are illegitimate but feuds between clans is better for OK Corral resolution.

In the Mastodon vs Bluesky wars, “toot” wins out over “skeet.” Both are dumb, but toot is funny, and the idea that people are out there boosting my toots gives Mastodon the prize on this issue.
@RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @ScottSoCal But with humans as I perceive them, I don’t see that being chosen as a philosophy to live by without a catastrophic nudge. And even then, I don’t perceive it as an end point, but a transitional point in the wake of breakdown. And as a generalization, I don’t see it as peaceful, but just another opportunity for power centers to form. I admit I could be mistaken, but humans will need to fundamentally change. 🤔

The idea of the #TheGreatFilter if you put credence in the idea, only serves to illustrate the difficulty of navigating this point in our development. I can say “wow” anarchy what a great idea! … if it can be achieved as a “peaceful” stable state of existence. That’s undetermined no matter how many papers I read. (Continued)
