@soc_i_ety@mstdn.ca And soon we may see a huge breakdown with billions dead and everyone left alive will be miserable. …just one of several possibilities.🤔

@RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @i_dabble@strangeobject.space @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @foolishowl put anarchy on the ballot and see how many votes you get.🤔 This is by no means a people have their shit together argument, they don’t. I think we as a species are screwed. And I’m a pessimist who does not regard anarchy as some kind of magic billet that will save us, not regarding emissions and global warming.

@RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @i_dabble@strangeobject.space @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @foolishowl this is a terrible format to have this discussion. People are people, many are sheep, some are inspired and under the system that exists make themselves wealthy and powerful. Why? Sheep. Most people seem to prefer private land ownership, something you can call your own. We are way beyond large communes. Even there, there is hierarchy and power.

In a headline
the newspaper of record declared
that “COVID
Didn’t Take a Summer Vacation”
which is quite true
but unfortunately
far too many newspapers
took a summer vacation
from covering the virus.

@RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @i_dabble@strangeobject.space @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @foolishowl I did look up, enclosure in the UK. The root of all evil? I request your take on how the world would be better today if anarchy managed to survive? Why didn’t it survive? That seems like a major clue, don’t you think? 🤔

@GayDeceiver Any potentially crowded space I mask up. Prime example, local grocery store or mall…

I’m starting to mask again. I can’t afford to get COVID once more.

@AnnieBuddy I’m not an ATE, but I know that apple trees grown for orchards have a life span and then they die. What kind of apple trees? How old are they? Research their lifespans, they like sun and not to be crowded. 😀

@RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @i_dabble@strangeobject.space @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @foolishowl I’m not here to fight or entertain you. Landowner or tycoon takes out a lease. If noone with $ appeared would there be a mine? Why don’t you tell me in such an area with minimal employment how people are coerced into taking a good paying job? What were their options before such a job became available? Btw , I’m not selling mining as a great job. 😁

The signal emerging is that Lithium is good but iron-air is much better when you're balancing a large grid like the State of #NewYork. With large deployment of multi-day storage a clean grid is 29% cheaper and has much lower fire hazard. Ultimately it will be a 'both and' with short, medium and long duration technologies that saves the day. #LDES #BatteryStorage pv-magazine-usa.com/2023/08/21

@i_dabble@strangeobject.space @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @foolishowl @RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social it’s not simple but in some ways it is to a point. 😉 Someone owns a mine. There is only logging as option B for employment. Workers get better pay doing A or B, than any other local job. Local farms pay less. Were workers coerced? 🤔 :19th, early 20th Century West Virginia, USA. During that time people migrated to WashDC for more job opportunities.

@ProgressivePower I’m a veteran and what’s funny is when military people rail about socialism… 🙂

@TucsonSentinel In contentious times this is more needed than ever, the thing is the major parties will fight it tooth and nail. I heard it called Instant Runoff voting, but this label is more descriptive.

As ranked choice voting gains momentum, parties in power push back tucsonsentinel.com/nationworld
Ranked choice voting has become increasingly popular over the past decade, with 13 million American voters in 51 jurisdictions now using the system in which voters rank candidates based on preference - but the challenge to the status quo has led to opposition from people in power.

@i_dabble@strangeobject.space @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @mloxton @RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social @foolishowl The problem with exporting manufacturing is that Corpos don’t care about unemployed, but while they care about markets, they have not put 2 and2 together to figure out the practise undermines the markets they want to sell to. A govt that really cares is vital, an entity we vote in. But we have a lot of sheep listening to BS fairy tales from conmen. 🤔

@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social @foolishowl @i_dabble@strangeobject.space @mloxton @RD4Anarchy@kolektiva.social I agree with what you are saying , but we don’t live in a anarchist world either. The debate is whom do you want to blame? An easy question is why don’t the masses overthrow Capitalism? Not defending Capitalism. However, revolutions are tough requiring masses with nothing left to lose to get them going. Give automation and AI a chance, who knows? 🤔

@DoomsdaysCW@kolektiva.social Typical Right Wing response: It’s happened before, not my worry. 🔥😬🔥
