@drclareharris If we have any moral authority left, apparently we do when a (normal) moderate holds the Presidency, then it should have been damn well expected. The problem is that half of Congress lacks MA or exercises Trump morality which is only to serve themselves, their train wreck of a Party, and always mindful to keep their Koolaid drinkers drunk on Orange Elixer.

1) Canada looks headed for its worse #fireseason ever according to Environment Canada and it’s only June.

Unusual as well, are dry and drought conditions across the whole country.

The cadre of #firefighters across #Canada is down by 30k personal. Luckily, countries around the world are sending firefighters to help out.

2) My guess?

It’s a perfect storm of #climatechange, economic factors that lead volunteer firefighters needing to find paying work and some loss of the available pool of firefighters due to #covid deaths and #LongCovid.

What would help?

Pay firefighters what they are worth and find money for permanent firefighting jobs.

Elect public official who understand the science behind #climate change and who are willing to take immediate action to address it.

I don’t love that Apple screws people into paying more for stuff that you could upgrade aftermarket on every other laptop, but I could see this being a great choice.

"It is one thing, again, kind of legally, to take classified documents and not know that they’re classified, and then, when you’re informed that they’re classified, to give them back. Right? That’s what a normal human does. That’s what a normal former president or former vice president does. If they found that they took something that they shouldn’t have, they give it back."

McKenzie River Trail Backpacking: Day 2

Saturday was all about waterfalls. Sahalie Falls was amazing as well as a couple smaller waterfalls downstream. Had to navigate a sketchy, wet trail to get the photo of Sahalie, but worth it.

My lightly sprained ankle felt good when I woke up but after hiking 20 miles, it hurt a bit.

Saw tons of ultramarathoners running a 50K on the trail as well.
