The Right Wing in the US plays a game: Did We Fool Ya? as they redefine terms to make their actions and motivations seem reasonable, hoping that self-serving STUPID back home will gulp the Koolaid. So in some corners the Jan6 insurrectionists are patriots. Making it harder for certain demographics to vote is supporting democracy and MAGA baby! Banning parts of our history is just a feel good move. And destroying the environment is just good business. Are you Fool’d yet?

With the caveat that this is accurate reporting- Do average Mormons know about the $100B slush fund and associated tax scam, I wonder? And is it ok because obviously it’s for a good cause, “our power”

GotG 3- decent flick, but dark and weakest of the trilogy imo. They really needed to make up their minds if they were filming a heavy drama or an adventure with comedic elements like before. .The humor felt out of place.

The GOP especially in Texas has a real issue with “live and let live”. Instead, “you are free to live in the straight jacket that we made especially for you”. This type of thinking from the Right, bleeds over into Freedom of Religion, where they don’t recognize that the phrase also means freedom from religion and tall tails in general.

I view equivalence arguments as excuse making by people who are either totally disengaged, ignorant, prejudiced, and/or don’t want to think about it, or they know their choice for, in this case the GOP is a bad one, hard to defend, but somehow they will benefit, so then the tactic becomes “they are all the same” as a means to justify their terrible choices. :(

Mr Trump has no shame. He relies on co-conspirators, people who perceive self advantage under his rule, or just plain STUPID* to rip up the Constitution as we know it. Besides when you are corrupt, who needs rules anyway? You might say in 2016 we collectively did not know, but without doubt we know now and it’s on us if we allow this poison anywhere near public office.
*An aquaintence told me that Democrats love Putin because he is a socialist, God… :(

Plus Republicans vigorously attack political adversaries for any real or made up BS while remaining mostly silent for the wrong doings of their own, and especially when most of them can’t stand Trump, but fear their own base of Orange Koolaid drinkers, don’t want to get primaried…You know it was Donny who turned the GOP, tradionaly critics of Russia, into Putin fanboys or at least mostly silent on the topic.

The worst part about today’s GOP, better said Slimey Newt’s GOP that has lived on since the 90’s , is that they try hard to pretend they are patriots, defenders of democracy and the Constitution while continuously working to undermine it for the sake of their hold on power. The biggest threat to them is truth, it’s their liability. “We don’t need no stink’n truth.”
